The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority has presented an Air Operator Certificate to Fly-Pyatic, the aviation flagship of the Pyatic Group, authorising the company to commence commercial air transport operations. The certification was presented by NCAA Director-General Capt. Chris Najomo at the authority's Abuja headquarters.
Fly-Pyatic is positioning itself in Nigeria's executive and business aviation segment, offering on-demand charter services, corporate mobility solutions, and flexible travel arrangements targeted at businesses, institutions, and high-net-worth individuals. The company has also indicated plans to manage partner fleets as part of a broader strategy to provide comprehensive aviation solutions to the corporate market.
NCAA's Safety Non-Negotiable Message
Presenting the certificate, Capt. Najomo described the certification as a major achievement for Fly-Pyatic while stressing that the highest standards of safety and operational discipline would be critical to sustaining the approval. The Director-General's message was consistent with the NCAA's established position: the AOC is not a licence to fly as one pleases — it is a regulatory authorisation that comes with continuing obligations.
"Aviation safety remains non-negotiable," Capt. Najomo said, setting out the terms under which Fly-Pyatic's operational approval will be maintained and evaluated as the carrier builds its operations.
The Market Fly-Pyatic Is Entering
Nigeria's executive and business aviation sector has historically been dominated by foreign operators and charter brokers, with most on-demand flights in the Lagos–Abuja and Lagos–Port Harcourt corridors operated by aircraft registered outside Nigeria. A locally certified operator with a proper AOC — subject to the full surveillance of the NCAA rather than the lighter-touch oversight applicable to private operations — represents a structural shift in how executive aviation is delivered in the Nigerian market.
