The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) approved the resumption of full pre-pandemic international flight schedules on 3 December 2020, lifting the frequency caps that had been in place since international travel restarted in September.
Testing Protocols Remain in Place
While frequency restrictions were lifted, airlines were still required to comply with COVID-19 testing protocols introduced when international flights resumed, including pre-departure and on-arrival testing requirements for passengers.

International carriers serving Nigeria had lobbied for the frequency caps to be lifted, arguing that restricted schedules were limiting their ability to meet a recovering, but still uneven, demand for international travel.
