NAHCO Expands Cargo Screening Capacity at Abuja Airport

Nigerian Aviation Handling Company (NAHCO) expanded its cargo screening capacity at Abuja's Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport on 18 June 2019, adding new scanning equipment to accommodate rising freight volumes through the airport.

Responding to Volume Growth

The additional X-ray scanning lanes were intended to reduce processing times for outbound cargo, which had lengthened in recent months as freight volumes through the airport increased faster than existing screening capacity could absorb.

Part of a Broader Cargo Strategy

NAHCO said the Abuja expansion was one part of a broader plan to modernise cargo handling infrastructure across the airports where it operated, with further upgrades to be considered based on demand trends.
