Ibom Air took delivery of its third Airbus A220 aircraft on 20 September 2020, giving the young Akwa Ibom state-backed carrier more scheduling flexibility as domestic air travel gradually recovered from the earlier pandemic lockdown.
Rebuilding Frequencies
The additional aircraft allowed the airline to restore some of the frequencies it had cut back during the lockdown period, particularly on its core Uyo-Lagos and Uyo-Abuja routes.
Continued Fleet Growth Plans
Management said the airline intended to continue expanding its fleet over the following year, subject to how quickly passenger demand recovered from the disruption caused by the pandemic.
