Air Peace has commenced operations on a new regional route linking Lagos with Conakry, the capital of Guinea, and Bamako, the capital of Mali, further extending the Nigerian carrier's footprint across West Africa. The inaugural flight departed from Murtala Muhammed International Airport's Terminal 2 in Lagos on Saturday, 1 August 2026.
The new service gives passengers in Nigeria, Guinea and Mali more direct travel options within the sub-region, supporting business, tourism, cultural exchange and economic cooperation. Air Peace said the route reflects its broader vision of connecting more African cities and creating seamless travel opportunities across the continent.
Continuing a Pattern of Regional Expansion
The Conakry-Bamako route adds to a string of intra-African route launches by Nigerian carriers through 2026, including United Nigeria Airlines' entry into the Ghana market and Ibom Air's new non-stop and one-stop services connecting Uyo and Abuja with Accra. Analysts tracking the trend point to it as part of a broader shift by Nigerian airlines toward reducing reliance on hub connections through Europe and the Gulf for travel between West African capitals.
